History: Born into the Rocket Gang to a high ranking officer, Musashi learned to be strong at an early age. Though her mother was a very successful rocket agent, the small family lived in unfortunate conditions. Life for Musashi grew worse as her mother was sent away on a mission. She never returned.
Musashi took to the streets, stealing what things she wanted and becoming rather cunning and manipulative. She was sneaky and loved to use her power of fire to get her way. Living on the streets she felt she was able to do what she wanted, when she wanted it to be done, and where. She loved to travel and explore and would find the creepiest of places to sleep at night (once even being attacked by a dark sprite). She stayed in excellent health and traveled often, moving about a good five miles each day.
Musashi never pitied herself. She readily tackled challenges, (albeit maybe the wrong way). Yet she always dreamed of one day hitting it big and getting rich so she could live in the lap of luxury.
Eventually, it came to pass that as she was wandering through a grand field a small Gardei tackled the young fire sprite with a playful lick. Upon inspection she found it belonged to a rich Psychic\Water sprite boy and in time they became good friends. This friendship was kept secret from the boy’s coldhearted parents and from his intended fiancée.
Completely in love with the boy’s fire pocket monster and remembering all the pocket monsters her mother had swiped for Madame Boss, Musashi decided herself to become a trainer. She wanted to do it the right way and not steal it (however, she did steal the money with which she meant to buy it, thus still in the wrong), and on the day which she ‘earned’ the right amount she went to visit her boy friend and tell him of her great fortune. It was on that very day, her seventh birthday in fact, that she was captured by a most vile person.
Taken off the face of the earth into some dark dungeon, she met a girl younger than her and of rather fragile spirit. At first glance, she loathed her for her weakness in crying, but then she herself felt rather afraid and felt empathy for her. The two were forced to work for the strange vile old woman, and Musashi was further toughened by her. She was sent off back to her home, the Rocket Gang, for extended training where, again, she met up with the Psychic\Water sprite boy, ever the same as when she had taken leave of him. She loved to train and spent all her days in it, becoming a strong, solid warrior and mastering her technique. She neither heard from nor saw her captor nor the other girl for a long period of time, and they both escaped her memory until they met again upon the slopes of the province of Nekkyo when Musashi turned seventeen.
The two girls caught up on all they had gone through over the past ten years and delighted in each others company until their captor had them separated once again and sent Musashi on a mission of sorts. She is now part of the withered TEAM society.
Musashi is a rather aloof, impudent girl who cares little for the concern of others. The world revolves around Tago and herself. He is her only concern and she does love him dearly, though when they first met she meant to trick him for he had done her other friend grave wrong in seeking to come between her and Ho Fai when he held no interest for the girl in the first place. She is also rather vain and in all reality has her priorities out of order, wishing to live a carefree life forever and never aiming for something profitable.
She has forgotten the promise she made to the other girl, the fellow captive and sufferer who had listened to all her troubles and complaints. She may not have forgotten her herself, but she does not think it necessary to demonstrate her care for her; Musashi is a very emotionless person to many and does not care to get all ‘mushy’ and sentimental. She knows that her friend knows that she cares—why then should she have to show anything? No, her friend is a weak one. Not at all like Musashi.
Musashi is not a mean girl. She does care for her friends. But perhaps not enough. Not enough to let her tough girl image down and show some emotion, besides anger. She has a soft side, emptiness that's nagging at her.
I sat alone in a corner, rose clutched in my tiny, grubby hand. The flower was wilted, all but one petal fallen away.
The house was cold and desolate. Still I sat and waited. I knew mommy would return. She promised to come back on the day of my sixth birthday. That was today. Any minute now...
Hearing the sound of footsteps, I looked up to see…it wasn’t mommy. It was just some rocket member. I immediately felt my heart sink and an uneasy feeling take hold of me. Why was he here? It couldn't be good. He didn't look happy.
He walked up to me and stood before me, for the moment speechless. Unable to bear the suspense, I stood to my feet, looking him square in the eye, “Where’s mommy?” I asked, breaking the silence with a tiny whisper.
“Miyamoto has failed her mission.”
I knew what that meant. My gaze immediately went back the to rose I held, not trusting myself to speak, feeling bitter tears well up in my eyes.
The rose was dead.
