Gerard Foundation: Relatively young global syndicate founded and controlled by the sixteen-year-old psychic Master and his Warui. It is a secret society, with unknown motives, but it does have a vast amount of resources, numberless members, and has been known to hold the mysterious Toshindaibukai tournaments. It is strong containing loyal members and instantly eliminating threats.
Its members are usually born into it or selected with greatest care after passing several exams and loyalty tests. There are several divisions of power, leading up to the Shitennou, and finally Master himself. All their bases are hidden in the most discrete places. Their members range from warriors, to sprites, to pocket monsters, to scientists, to engineers, to even teachers and psychologists. They are a very careful organization, unlike their ally, the Rocket Gang, and their rival, the Organization—they rarely experiment and never cause global disturbances.
As said, it’s motives and goals are unknown. Its members live by strict, unfaltering laws, and actually have a high sense of honor and unity.
Thanks to Warui’s wisdom and cunning, the Foundation remains a powerful, unshakable organization.
Himitsu Kessha: Cover name of the Gerard Foundation. That name is never to be heard by outsiders. If said at all, it is to be called the Himitsu Kessha.
Organization: Older cult organization, formed of loosely connected bases and ill equipped fighters. Abel, its leader was an avid worshipper of the Toshin, or Agon Teos. It is completely unlike the Gerard Foundation in every sense of the word; ill fit for survival, it was known over all the world and had all the Interpol after it trying to bring it down. Surrounded by enemies within and without, it did little to stop its attackers but continued trying to claim the world for its pagan god, proclaiming that when the sea ran red with blood, then Agon Teos would descend to earth.
The Organization finally collapsed because of civil war at the death of Abel.
Rocket Gang: A group stronger than the Organization, but weaker than the Gerard Foundation. At the outset, they extended peace feelers towards Warui and Master and agreed to help the newly born syndicate with money if they would join their cause against the Organization, long enemy of the Rocket Gang.
Founded by Madame Boss, this organization is known and dreaded. It is composed mostly not of warriors, but of thieves and scientists. Its aim is creating the greatest biological weapon and it experiments with pocket monsters and sprites.
TEAM: Founded centuries ago in the nineteen hundreds by an American war veteran who had traveled to Nomékop and immediately fell in love with it and vowed to forever protect it. A small group soon banded to him and they eventually expanded into a global operation, ensuring the safety of countless innocents alongside of Interpol, S.T.A.R.S., and other international agencies. Of all they were the most trusted and loved of all people for their honor, valor, wisdom, and true care towards those they protected.
But then, after a long struggle against a certain evil, multi-billon-dollar pharmaceutical company responsible for tragic viral spills and the creation of bio-weapons, the two opposing sides met at the plain of Kedar. The two armies covered a full sixty square miles and fought for three days and three nights. No one knows exactly what happened or what caused it, but the end result was a draw. Nobody won. The enemy was defeated, but it came at such a severe price: only three TEAM members remained alive. The world was shocked by the news. (See 'Legend of Veruikha')
Since that battle, TEAM has dwindled into almost complete nonexistence, with a few scattered members playing hero among those they live around.
It is also believed by some that the controversial Veruikha may still be alive.
THEM: Otherworldly “spirits” guiding the events of Kantoian life. Unknown what they are or what their purposes are, but all the people of Kanto fear and respect them…whatever they are.
Places
Cacnea Mecha: One
of TEAM’s first bases recently purchased and reconstructed by the
multibillion dollar Trust corporation. Is now a complex hotel.
Celadon City: A smaller city, north of the Cacnea Mecha. Is near the small town, Longborn.
Crimson City: Kanto’s largest city, located twenty miles south of the Cacnea Mecha.
Kanto: Land containing the afore mentioned cities as well as the beautiful Starlit Beach, and the historic Cacnea Mecha. (See here)
Murto: Land in which TEAM originated. Widely open and untamed land where much of the beauty lies strongest.
Nekkyo: “Capital” of Kanto; lovingly called ‘crazy’ for its hustling business and many tourist attractions, including a fifty-mile stretch of unpolluted beach called Starlit or Orchard, TEAM’s old base reconstructed to look like a giant Sabonea or Cacnea, and the Elm forest with over three hundred different tree species and a mysterious, dark unexplored Cave. The capital of Nekkyo is seven miles from Crimson City and about sixteen from Celadon City.
Nomékop: Country southeast of Japan. Massive continent containing Kanto, Murto, Johto, and the Orange Islands. Mostly undisturbed from the rest of the world, it is a bit behind in technological discoveries but is a beautiful land of towering mountains, pleasant valleys, sparkling white sands, clear blue oceans, and thick forests. It is a relatively peaceful republic of loosely joint provinces and counties. It has the most abundant source of Pocket Monsters and many Sprites prefer to settle there. It is a diverse country in its climates as well as inhabitants, containing a large group of people from different countries such as America, England, Japan, and China. (See here)
Things
Element: The power of a sprite: grass\earth (highly in tune with vegetation and can control growth), fire (can withstand living flames and can create fire with little thought), water (most like humans in genetic structure, can breath underwater and have power over such), poison (accept no food this sprite offers you; no matter the intentions; it will be poisoned), electric (especially enjoy thunderstorms), ice (very rare; fragile and strong at the same time), psychic (mythical beings; usually good to people, but can come across as scary; wear black to limit their extreme powers; be careful what you think around them, they can read your mind), ghost (haunt people obviously; pale and eerie), and dark (avoid at all costs).
Elite Dark Sprite: While not all strong dark sprites are pretty, this term encompasses only the chiefest ones. An elite dark sprite is not only highly intelligent but also drop-dead beautiful or stunningly handsome. Nine out of ten elite dark sprite have perfect bodies covered only by a changeable layer of black or gray skin, which allows them to do any number of things, whether it be disappearing into shadow, or becoming covered in solid armor, etc…
Elite Dark Sprites, and all dark sprites for that matter, are considered by themselves and all others, the chief, the upper class, the professionals. They are constant rivals with demons and feel free to ridicule them and show them up at every possible moment. They command and have mastery over dark pocket monsters. They mock the monsters of human legend and pick fun at horrors.
In all reality, elite dark sprites are much more threatening than the dreadfully mutated, vile monsters. You never know when you might be walking or talking with one.
Very voluptuous things.
Legend of Veruikha: Legend has it that as the noble sprites, pocket monsters, and warriors of TEAM fought the endless surge of mindless killer bio-weapons, a great host of demons rushed in upon them suddenly, killing those of both party. While there is no solid evidence, it has been said that as the third night drew to a close and the sun began to rise, the song of a certain dark sprite filled the air, Shi Uta, the Perish Song.
That unknown elite dark sprite of the legend has been given the name ‘Veruikha,’ and stands atop the bodies of the slain, flute in her hand, in a memorial statue of TEAM’s former greatness.
This legend is not without merit. Nothing has grown in the plain Kedar, but it remains a most desolate wasteland of dust and ashes—the effect the Perish song has is similar. And what else could kill all three armies and practically all of TEAM, even those that were not at the battle? It actually seems to be a very reasonable explanation that since all the other TEAM bases were radioed into the battlefield to hear what was happening and whether they should send reinforcements they heard the song that ends all songs.
Ocelot: (see here)
Perish Song: The song a dark sprite plays or sings which kills all those who hear it. While it is unknown how the sound sounds exactly, or whether or not it is different with each sprite, it has been assumed that since it is sung by the alluring elite dark sprites it is at first a beautiful song that captivates its audience, but towards the end reaches a melancholy high note which seals the listeners fate and kills them painfully as they clutch their bleeding ears. The dark sprite also dies.
Pocket Monster: A species of various types of 'elemental animals.' Found primarily in Nomékop, these creatures can be trained for battles and\or taken in as pets. The first to discover their high intelligence and ability to learn new things was Dr. Brad Wolcott of TEAM, who sanctioned it good that every TEAM member should have one as a partner. Are usually carried in monster ball.
Pocket Monster Ball: Device used to capture and contain pocket monsters, putting its inhabitant in status sleep mode until called upon. Device may be empty.
Pocket Monster Center: A place of refreshment for pocket monsters.
Sprite: Often seen as the combination of pocket monster and human. Having similar body structure to human beings, it would be hard to point out a sprite in a room full of people. But sprites hold amazing elemental powers. They seem always to be gifted with beauty, grace, wit, and bravery. As for the sprites and how they interact with those around them, it is hard to make a general statement for they are so diverse. It is safe to say that in general most are interested in humans. Some look after them, the weaker and less intelligent beings; some protect them as a call of duty; some are curious and seek to get a closer look; some are disgusted with human immorality; some hold little interest for better or worse; and some wish to slay them. As for how they react towards other sprites, sometimes they get along, sometimes they fight. And as for how long they live, generally speaking, they seem to grow quickly at first, then slow and come to near a complete stop. At 80 they still look young and vibrant as ever.
Little can be certain with these unique, talented beings however. One should never assume that a fire sprite is always vivacious, passionate, and ill-tempered or that a water sprite is always calm, collected, and lazy, or that an ice sprite is cold and aloof. It would be unfair to stereotype them for they have different personalities all of them. Although it is safe to say that as they grow in level, experience, and age they do start to look like the element they came from; and when they die, to that element they return.
BUT, the most dangerous of all sprites hands down is the dark sprite. There is a story of one rich Shrew Oswell Spencer who took in a baby dark sprite by his door. He raised it, gave it all it could ever want, taught it to be good. Year five, the usual breaking point of all dark sprites, came and went. Nothing happened, but the dark sprite was loyal and loving as ever.
Shrew Spencer was praised for being the first to ever break a dark sprite. At the beginning of the sixth year, as soon as he was about to go to accept his reward, the sprite murdered him as he slept in his bed, ripping into his throat like a rabid dog.
Though society has tried to eliminate dark sprites, evil hateful beings, there still remain some. Beware.
Suzaku no Yumi: The sacred bow of the fire bird Phoenix. Ura inherited it, and gave it to Puella for protection. Those who the Suzaku accepts, it will protect. Those it does not accept will die upon touching it.
